【摘要】:Thetermappearance(see3.2.1)impliestheessentialpresenceofhumanvisualobservations.Theresultsofvisualobservationinvolvenotonlythestepofobserving,accomplishedbytheeye,butalsotheinseparablestepofinterpretationinthebrain.Instrumentaltestmethodscurrentlycannotduplicatethissecondstep,andthereforecannowonlyapproximate,butnotfullymeasure,appearance.Suchinstrumentalmeasuresofappearancepropertiesareusefulonlytotheextentthattheycanbecorrelatedtotheresultsofvisualobservationsbyobserversoftheappearancephenomenabeingevaluated.Almostinvariably,toolittleattentionhasbeenpaidtoensuringthattheessentialvisualobservationshavebeenproperlyobtainedtoprovidethebasisforcorrelatingvisualandinstrumentaltestresults.(Theonlyrecentbookdevotedtovisualmeasurements(1)hasnoindexentryforobserver.)Thisguideprovidesthemeansforassessingobservers,byoutliningtherequirementsandtestsfortheirselection,evaluation,andtraining.Thisguideshouldbeusefultoallexperimentersdesigningorusingvisualtestmethodstoprovideeitherdirectresultsintermsoftheobservationofappearanceproperties,ortheexperimentscorrelatingsuchresultswithinstrumentalmeasuresapproximatingthesameappearanceproperties.1.1Thisguidedescribescriteriaandtestsforselecting,evaluating,andtraininghumanvisual-sensoryobserversfortasksinvolvingtheperceptionandscalingofpropertiesandphenomenarelatingtoappearance.1.2ExamplesoftestsrequiringtheuseoftrainedobserversincludebutarenotlimitedtothosedescribedinthefollowingASTMstandards:oncolor,PracticeD1535andPracticeE1360;oncolordifference,PracticeD1729andTestMethodD2616;ongloss,TestMethodD4449;onmetamerism,PracticeD4086;andonsettingtolerances,PracticeD3134.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.

【摘要】:Thepull-offadhesionstrengthandmodeoffailureofacoatingfromaconcretesubstrateareimportantperformancepropertiesthatareusedinspecifications.Thistestmethodservesasameansforuniformlypreparingandtestingcoatedsurfaces,andevaluatingandreportingtheresults.Variationsinstrengthresultsobtainedusingdifferentinstruments,differentsubstrates,ordifferentloadingfixtureswiththesamecoatingarepossible.Therefore,itisrecommendedthatthespecifictestinstrumentandloadingfixturebemutuallyagreeduponbetweentheinterestedparties.Thistestmethodshouldnotbeusedtodeterminesurfacestrengthofuncoatedconcrete.TestMethodC1583/C1583Missuitableforthatdetermination.1.1Thistestmethodcoversproceduresforevaluatingthepull-offadhesionstrengthofacoatingonconcrete.Thetestdeterminesthegreatestperpendicularforce(intension)thatasurfaceareacanbearbeforeaplugofmaterialisdetached.Failurewilloccuralongtheweakestplanewithinthesystemcomprisedofthetestfixture,adhesive,coatingsystem,andsubstrate,andwillbeexposedbythefracturesurface.1.2Thistestmethodusesaclassofapparatusknownasportablepull-offadhesiontesters.Theyarecapableofapplyingaconcentricloadandcounterloadtoasinglesurfacesothatcoatingscanbetestedeventhoughonlyonesideisaccessible.Measurementsarelimitedbythestrengthofadhesionbondsbetweentheloadingfixture,coatingsystemandthesubstrateorthecohesivestrengthsoftheadhesive,coatinglayers,andsubstrate.1.3Pull-offadhesionstrengthmeasurementsdependuponbothmaterialandinstrumentalparameters.Therearedifferentinstrumentsusedthatcomplywiththistestmethod.Thespecificinstrumentusedshouldbeidentifiedwhenreportingresults.Thistestisdestructiveandspotrepairsmaybenecessary.1.4ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
